The missing record
Square shows what your Item Library looks like now.
CatalogTrail shows how it got there.
A price changes quietly
The current price is visible. The previous price—and when it moved—is not.
A modifier disappears
A connected channel or teammate updates the Item Library, and customers see the consequence first.
Locations drift apart
Availability and item settings stop matching, but manual exports only show isolated snapshots.
Set it once
From connection to useful history in three steps.
- 1
Connect Square
Authorize read-only access to supported Item Library data. CatalogTrail cannot edit your items.
- 2
Take the first snapshot
Your supported items, prices, variations, modifiers, categories, taxes, and availability become the baseline.
- 3
See and receive changes
Review clear previous and current values. Choose automatic alerts or one calm daily summary.
Calm proof
The exact value that changed. Nothing to decode.
Every record names the item, field, previous value, current value, time, and location context when Square provides it. Routine changes stay quiet. Important changes are easy to spot.

Focused coverage
Track the settings that shape what customers can buy.
CatalogTrail monitors supported fields after connection. It does not claim to back up all Square business data.
Prices & variations
See price, SKU, variation, and sellable-setting changes.
Modifiers & options
Know when choices, prices, defaults, or ordering change.
Categories, taxes & discounts
Follow assignments and meaningful configuration changes.
Locations & availability
Understand where supported items become present or absent.
More than another export
A history, not a folder of snapshots.
A CSV can preserve a moment. CatalogTrail continuously turns supported changes into an understandable record and sends the changes you care about.

Clear limits build trust
Questions, answered plainly.
Does CatalogTrail change anything in Square?
No. The launch product requests read-only access to supported Item Library and location data.
Can it show who made a change?
No. Square’s catalog events do not reliably identify the team member responsible, so CatalogTrail does not guess.
Does it recover deleted items?
No. CatalogTrail preserves supported previous values for investigation, but it does not write to Square or promise restoration.
When does history start?
After Square is connected. The initial snapshot creates a baseline; CatalogTrail cannot reconstruct edits that happened before connection.
What happens if I cancel?
Continuous monitoring and alerts stop at the end of the paid period. Your deletion and retention choices are explained before cancellation.
