CatalogTrail help

Get back to a clear change record.

Start with the issue you see. These checks resolve the most common setup, monitoring, billing, and saved-version questions.

A check looks delayed

Open Settings and look at Last checked for changes. If Square is connected and your plan is active, use Check for changes once. The time updates after the queued check finishes; large Item Libraries can take longer.

Do not disconnect Square just because a check is still processing. Reconnect only when CatalogTrail says the connection needs attention.

A change appears to be missing

History begins after the first saved copy. CatalogTrail records supported items, variations, modifiers, categories, taxes, discounts, and availability settings; it does not track inventory quantities or every kind of Square business data.

Rapid Square edits can be combined into one saved version, and Square may provide only the latest state by the time a check runs. Search Activity by item name and broaden the date and impact filters before contacting support.

Square needs to be reconnected

Go to Settings and choose Connect Square when the connection needs attention. Sign in to the Square merchant account you intend to monitor and approve the requested read-only Item Library and merchant-profile permissions.

CatalogTrail cannot edit Square, read payments, or access customer or banking records. Existing CatalogTrail history remains available while the connection is repaired.

Checkout completed but the plan is not active

Return to Settings and allow a short time for Stripe to confirm the subscription. Settings checks automatically; you do not need to refresh or purchase again. If the plan still shows inactive after several minutes, contact support with the workspace name and approximate checkout time.

Saved versions and exports

A full supported-catalog capture contains the Square catalog types CatalogTrail monitors; it is not a backup of payments, customers, orders, employees, or inventory quantities. Rapid edits may be represented by one saved version.

Technical JSON and spreadsheet downloads are reference exports. They are not direct Square Dashboard import files, and CatalogTrail does not automatically restore or edit Square. Use saved values to inspect and repair the setup in Square.
